The Basics
Notes are named after the first seven letters in the alphabet. In order, they are: A - B - C - D - E - F - G
Between any two notes, except between B - C and E - F, we also have a sharp and/or flat note.
These are the symbols that are used to denote sharp and flat:
# = sharp
= flat
If we list the notes, again, and include the sharps and flats, we get: A - A#/Bb - B - C - C#/Db - D - D#/Eb - E - F - F#/Gb - G - G#/Ab - A
note in the above list that A# (A sharp) is same as Bb (B flat) |
